Our website's mission is to promote digital marketing for cultural artisan products in the basketry sector of SANYA SHOP BURUNDI, and subsequently for other products and services in the fields of IT, office supplies, educational materials, and food.
For a long time, cultural basketry products under the emblem of the Rundi name “agaseke” have served as everyday vehicles for interpersonal relations and social dialogue and reconciliation. Cultural basketry has facilitated the exchange of gifts and counter-gifts over centuries, helping to weave strong and dynamic social bonds within Burundian society, often referred to in classical literature and epic songs as the land of milk and honey. In modern civility, cultural basketry holds significant importance in innovations related to Burundian courtesy. SANYA SHOP has made this the foundation of its digital business, linking the IT sector with the promotion of good Burundian morals and cultural renaissance in the age of IT and digitalization. Thus, the trademark “agasekeship” was born—a Kirundi neologism with an English twist. As a symbol of this cultural renaissance in the Nile basin, SANYA is defined as “Symbiotic Algorithms along Nile for Youth Applications.”
SANYA SHOP BURUNDI was established in 2007 by two Indian promoters in the city of Bujumbura, specializing in the sale of IT and office equipment imported from abroad. In 2012, the Indian promoters left the company, and Burundian promoters took over its management and leadership.
The Burundian promoters formed a team of four under the leadership of Mr. RWASA Oscar, who relaunched the company in 2014 under a new concept of IT business combined with cultural renaissance. The company ceased imports and focused on local sourcing. Other assortments were introduced in the store, which moved from Bujumbura to the Muyinga commercial center, including cultural basketry items, educational materials, and food products.
The new IT business concept draws inspiration from the personal history of its director, Mr. Oscar RWASA, who attended secondary school at Petit Séminaire Saint Joseph de MUREKE starting in 1988. Due to the elitism and excellence of this school, Oscar discovered the first microprocessor—the “ancestor” of the computer—while participating in the mathematics club starting in 1991. This club, created and led by Professor Anselme NGOMIRAKIZA, taught students in the science section how to manipulate a microprocessor to write an algorithm and execute it.
In the same year, through an English course focused on science and technology, Oscar began a storytelling adventure called AFTERMATH PROJECT, where a computer terminal (MONITOR) plays the role of a mythical character. The moral of the AFTERMATH PROJECT story is as follows: after a terrible disaster, the surviving characters must draw on their talents and complementarities to find solutions for rescue from existing resources, following the inspiring order of creativity: “from the known to the unknown,” and dynamically practicing the trial-and-error method.
This context mirrors that of a post-conflict country where the majority of the population is in despair. The overarching solution is stylized by the famous common denominator and innovator: “Symbiotic Algorithms along Nile for Youth Applications.” The trademark agasekeship is an invitation to the market to meet these innovations and the talents of young people in symbiosis.
